January Beaches

When no one is at the shore in January, the locals thrive on the peace and quiet of their towns. In Sea Isle City, it is particularly quiet. But even without the bustle of visitors and the open businesses (granted I have nowhere to eat..) it is still a place where people want to be to relax and really be able to take in the beauty of the ocean. Here are my first Beach Photos of 2010 that I shot at JFK Boulevard, around sunset on Saturday, January 2.

Awesome CA Photogs

Check out these photographers who sell and exhibit their work at Studio Arts in Laguna Beach, CA. There are only three here, two with bios, but they are very interesting. Their photography is also very creative and art influenced. I love the layering and textures in Suzi Chauvel's work. Some of the images are a very intense, and even a bit erie, especially with her use of a single (sometimes multiple) intense infusion of color on most of her black and white images. For the most part, I think the color has more effect when it is used as part of the photograph itself, rather than in one of the added layers (IE the birds, flowers, etc.). Although the layers make the photos even more interesting than they already appear, the photos with color displayed as part of the original images are so much more intense to me. All are very creative though.
